Regardless of our individual beliefs, we should be thankful to our governmental leaders, especially President John F. Kennedy and President William J. Clinton. Public Law 87-726, signed by President John F. Kennedy in 1962, was amended by the 103rd Congress as part of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994. President Bill Clinton signed Public Law 103-322 which directs that the flag of the United States on all Government buildings be displayed at half-staff on May 15, National Peace Officers' Memorial Day. Thanks and blessings to all of those brave men and women who wear a badge and are sworn to stand for justice and keep our City, State, and Country free. Thank you to all of their families for standing and supporting the men and women sworn to protect and defend.
God bless you all.

I am proud that I was given the opportunity to serve as a New York City Police Officer. I love the job because it has become my life, and I will never forget the men and women that I've served long side of. Also, those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
With special thoughts of my former classmates of St. Leonard's, Brooklyn, class of 1964, who becamse NYPD police officers, John Snidersich and Lenny Clementi. You guys are always in my thoughts and prayers. God bless.
I have reason to believe that Phil Fitzpatrick,an officer shot and killed in pursuit of a robbery suspect in June 1947, was my maternal great-uncle.He also wrote the song, "Leitrim, lovely Leitrim" May the Lord have mercy upon his soul and the souls of all the brave men and women who have lost their lives in the service of the community.
